Diary of House Shopper, Part II

10205 Baldwin Ave. NE
Albuquerque, NM
Well, it's almost time to start packing.

First the bloody offer we put in on Monday has to be accepted.  It probably will.

According to our buyer's agent, the seller "loved" the offer.  The seller is some seemingly transparent business up in Santa Fe with the strange name of Santa Fe Chapter, LLC.  This is a little uncomfortable to me, not being able to deal with the entity or person(s) whom from we are buying this house (probably).

Their price is great, but we want them to ground all the electrical outlets and put in three-prong plugs.  They're afraid that the whole house might have to get rewired to accomplish this, so we granted them another 24 hours with our offer while they determine how much this will cost.

The house is cool.  It's set back from Baldwin Ave. behind a big tree with a neat little recessed entryway and a two-car garage.  There are lots of big windows and four bedrooms, though one of the bedrooms is really a den.

When you walk in the front door, you turn right into the living/dining room or go forward into the den where there is a fireplace on the far right end of the back wall, next to the sliding glass doors that go out onto the patio.  The backyard is walled and right on the arroyo (that's Spanish for drainage canal) which has a paved bike trail following it.  This gives privacy with no neighbors or loud dogs immediately behind the house.

Back inside, the kitchen adjoins the living room and it too has sliding glass doors onto the same patio.  A hallway commences in between the living room and kitchen leading to the three bedrooms which are at the front of the house, two to your right as you go down the short hallway and one to the left, the bathroom immediately preceding the bedroom on your left.  The den also has a 3/4 bath.

All the walls are freshly painted white and the place is quite spacious -- at least it is with no furniture.

The sellers are so eager to sell that they have offered a buyer their choice of a new fridge or washer and dryer with an acceptable offer.  We hope this holds with the electrical situation.

We're very excited.  I'll let you know how it turns out.
